AT THE REFUGE. ‘MYOTRAGUS’ WORKSHOP: MULETA

Class 6B students, Luismi and Asmae, explained facts about the Cave of Muleta, the GR221 hiking route of the Pedra en Sec, the refuge and the lighthouse.

The refuge was a militar radio telegraphic station from 1912 to 1956. It is near the lighthouse of Cap Gros. This lighthouse is 20 metres high. It was inaugurated on February, 20, 1859.

The Cave of Muleta is an archeological site in Sóller in the Serra de Tramuntana on Mallorca. The oldest human bones to be found in the Balearic Islands were in this Cave and also the bones of extinct mammals Myotragus balearicus, Hypnomys morpheus and Nesiotites hidalgo.
